About Us

We are a voluntary, not for profit group dedicated to supporting anyone affected by mesothelioma or any asbestos related disease.  The group was originally founded by Eileen Beadle, whose husband Raymond Beadle was a mesothelioma victim and died just under a year after diagnosis in 2006, aged 54.

Eileen found that there were no support groups in East London, despite the area having one of the highest instances of mesothelioma in the United Kingdom.

As a result, ELMS was founded. We aim to support all family members, friends, bereaved partners, carers, and the victims of asbestos related disease themselves.

Volunteers offer emotional support daily, via the telephone, between 5pm until 10pm, and in person if required.

We are associated with the following national and local campaigns, working together to create a community of mutual support and raise awareness:

If you are interested in finding out more information, joining the group, or want to offer your support then please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
